The camera of the year just got better.
Z 9 Firmware 2.0 coming April.
When shooting fast action, new Pre-Release Capture* records the instant right before you take your shot, capturing a moment that might otherwise have been missed. Give your reaction time a boost.
*Available in C30 and C120 modes.
Create your own focus area.
Sometimes, you need precise control of where your Z 9 should focus. With 20* new custom Wide-Area AF (C1/C2) options, you can define the shape of your focus area. Your custom focus area will even work simultaneously with Subject Detection and Eye-Detect AF.
*12 new Wide-Area AF C1/C2 options in video mode.
Set and recall focus positions with any NIKKOR Z lens.
For the first time in a Nikon camera, you can now save multiple focus positions to the Z 9 or your compatible lens and recall them with the touch of a button. Toggle your focus between the shortstop and the play at the plate without missing a beat.
Real Live Viewfinder gets smoother with 120 fps refresh rate.
Firmware 2.0 unlocks an option to increase the Z 9’s Real Live Viewfinder refresh rate to 120 fps, making it even easier to track fast action like sports, birds and wildlife.
Blend motion into one incredible image.
A new retouch feature, Motion Blend, lets you combine a sequence of motion into one amazing still image, right in the camera with no additional software or accessories.
Clock your long exposures, right in-camera.
For capturing amazing star trails and long exposures, Firmware 2.0 enhances the Z 9’s Long Exposure display to include a live counter of your exposure time. You also can now dim the viewfinder with greater precision to preserve power and your night vision.
See how Firmware 2.0 makes Z 9 the most capable mirrorless video camera.
