Explore My Vision
Freelance photographer, writer, tour guide, educator, environmentalist and father. Simon Williams (b. Chester, England) has been a specialist photographer in landscape, travel, sports and digital design for the last twenty-five years.
Now based in Queenstown, New Zealand and constantly inspired by the mountains, skies and lakes of the Deep South, Simon uses his educational background in Astrophysics to command technically precise, yet emotionally resonant photographic works.
Through a journey of daily practice using photography as both a craft and pathway in self-exploration, Simon has created an impressive portfolio of works used to promote nature as a method for mental wellbeing.
His national filmmaking education workshops with New Zealand children through ‘The Outlook for Someday’, also informs his sense of what sustainability looks, like through the eyes of our future generations. This work also continues his decade long facilitation of the Enviroschools Programme in schools within the Southern Lakes.
Simon's latest venture is running a Luxury Private Charter 4WD company with his partner Emma, allowing their clients to experience New Zealand in an authentic way. Their tourism offering provides professional photography as well as environmental education every step of the way for their clients, creating beautiful lasting memories for their clients.
Simon’s documentary photography on the environment, health and sustainability is featured in numerous publications.
