This photograph is a part of my lengthy photo series on New Zealand fur seals. It was at Ohau Point near which is a about twenty to twenty-five minutes away from Kaikoura which is a popular place to find fur seals. I drove along the coast driving past checkpoints that were in the middle of construction due to the earthquake a couple of years ago. Stopping at Ohau point you can look down on the seal colony from a metal fence and watch the fur seals down below. The many different seals basking on long stretch of palleted rocks or jumping into the water to swim. What caught my eye the most was these two fur seal pup play fighting each other which is practice for them once they reached adulthood.
